Impressive Rochester Castle stands on the east bank of the River Medway and offers amazing views from the top of the keep. Explore Rochester’s stunning cathedral, founded in AD604, making it the second oldest cathedral in England.

Charles Dickens

Literary fans will enjoy exploring this town full of character that captured the imagination of Charles Dickens. A number of buildings featured in his work, including Restoration House, The Six Poor Travellers House and Eastgate House. There are free walking tours and annual festivals celebrating Medway’s connections to the famous writer.
