Explore the castle

Visit the Gatehouse to find out about the castle’s 900-year history, from Norman fortress to Tudor Palace and today’s restored masterpiece. If you’re curious about the history of man’s best friend, don’t forget to check out the huge collection of dog collars in the Gatehouse!

Birds of prey and falconry

Visit the Birds of Prey Centre, just behind the maze. The centre has 27 birds and 19 different species, from an American Kestrel to a Russian Steppe Eagle. Make sure you catch the free falconry displays nearby, featuring falcons, hawks, vultures and owls.
