Mums to be & parents
If you are an expectant mother or parent, there are a number of ways that we can make your journeys with us a little easier
Pregnant passengers also meet the criteria for a Priority Seating card.
This card can be shown to fellow passengers who are sitting in a priority seat and gives them priority over non-card holders.
Also, if you’re 20 weeks or more into your pregnancy and travel with us at least twice a week, you can apply for authorisation to sit in First Class when there are no seats available in standard class. We offer this as a courtesy to mums-to-be, but of course we can't guarantee there’ll always be a seat available.
To apply, we need a copy of a MAT B1 form, or a signed letter from your GP or midwife which confirms pregnancy and the date the baby is due. We also need a photocopy of your Season ticket and photocard or tickets/receipts or letter from your employer to show you travel with us at least two times a week. We’d also need to know your name and contact details. Please send these details to us using our Contact us form.
Don’t be left standing on a packed train. If you’re a mum to be, you can get a free Baby on Board badge to let everyone know you need a seat.
Applying is easy. Just request a badge using our Contact Us form, or give our Customer Services team a call on 0345 322 7021 and they’ll be happy to put one in the post for you.
Live information on on-board toilets is now available through our Southeastern app.
