Winter Weather Timetables
This winter, we’ll be running a Winter Weather Timetable, but only on days when we expect ice and light snow which freezes around the electric rail, preventing trains from drawing power or being able to move with any speed. And in the worst cases, preventing them from being able to move at all.
When this timetable is in place there will be a reduced service on Mondays to Fridays with less frequent trains throughout the day, but some additional services at Peak times. Saturdays and Sundays will also have an amended service. Train times will be different, trains won’t split or attach so you may need to change trains, and Peak trains will be busier. Please travel earlier or later to avoid busiest Peak trains.
We aim to give you a minimum of 24 hours’ notice on our website that the timetable will change. But we’ll also let you know that we may be changing the timetable 3 days’ in advance if we can, to give you time to plan. You can download the Winter Weather Timetables further below now.
In heavier snow, a Severe Winter Weather Timetable is likely to run, and you can view these timetables here.
Sometimes mother nature has other ideas and the weather changes from the forecast, which means we may need to change this planned timetable. We’ll do all we can to keep you up-to-date.
If you have any questions about the timetables, your journey options, tickets or delay repay, you can view FAQs on this page, as well as finding out how we prepare for winter weather.
