What has happened?
There has been a fault with the signalling system at Gillingham which is preventing trains running between Gillingham and Faversham in both directions.
How does this affect my journey?

Trains between London Victoria and the coast via Faversham won't run between Gillingham and Ramsgate / Dover Priory.
Highspeed services between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via the Medway Towns are suspended.

Travel during the evening Peak
We're hoping to restore a limited service between Gillingham and Faversham which will enable some trains to resume travel between London, Faversham and beyond.
This limited service will mean that only trains between London St Pancras International and Faversham will be able to run through the affected area. So if you usually travel from London Victoria to Faversham and further you'll need to travel from London St Pancras International instead.
This trains are expected to be extremely busy. We are working hard to ensure these trains are formed of 12 carriages wherever possible.
In addition to the above our direct trains between London Cannon Street and the Medway Towns will not be in operation this evening.
To provide extra capacity between London and Rochester, the 18:07 London Cannon Street to Rochester via Bexleyheath will run non-stop between London Bridge and Dartford. For stations between London and Dartford, there'll be a train 10 minutes later.
Many of the "fast" trains stopping at Bromley South from London Victoria will not be running. Those that are expected to extremely busy. Please consider using some of the slower "stopping" services if a less busy service is preferred.
What should I do?
If you're travelling between London and the Medway Towns: Use trains between London Victoria and Gillingham. Please be aware these trains will stop at all stations, which will increase journey times.
If you're travelling between London and Faversham, we recommend you travel on highspeed services to Ramsgate or Margate and change there for trains to Faversham.
For Sittingbourne, travel to Gillingham and change there for replacement buses.
