In December, Southeastern will introduce a major package of timetable improvements across Kent, East Sussex and south-east London.
From Sunday 14 December, customers will benefit from:
- A new weekday Hastings Express service between Hastings and Charing Cross, cutting journey times to London Bridge and Charing Cross by up to 14 minutes.
- Half-hourly semi-fast services between Tunbridge Wells and Charing Cross throughout off-peak periods on weekdays and Saturdays, providing more frequent journeys to Orpington, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
- Restored half-hourly services between Victoria and Ashford via Maidstone East throughout the day on weekdays and all day Saturday, alongside additional direct Charing Cross services.
- A new hourly Sunday service between Charing Cross and Maidstone East, creating a train to London around every 30 minutes when combined with existing Victoria services.
- Two trains an hour throughout the day, seven days a week, on the Sheerness branch, providing the most frequent timetable on the line for 30 years and better connections at Sittingbourne.
- A more connected Metro network across south-east London, with almost all Metro routes operating at least four trains an hour during daytime periods from Monday to Saturday.
- Improved links to the Elizabeth line, including all-day half-hourly Greenwich and Sidcup line services to Abbey Wood from Monday to Saturday.
- More frequent services on the Bexleyheath line, including up to six trains an hour and direct Charing Cross services every 30 minutes, seven days a week.
- Increased Saturday services between Orpington and Victoria via Herne Hill, with trains increasing from two to four per hour.
- Additional capacity through a new 16:58 Cannon Street to Ashford service via Tonbridge and Headcorn.
- Four trains an hour at peak times on the Bromley North Line and the introduction of a Sunday service of two trains an hour.
- Increased services on Sundays between Victoria and Canterbury East via the Medway Towns at the busiest times of the day.
- On Sundays a new half hourly service will run between Cannon Street and Dartford via Lewisham and Woolwich Arsenal, restoring the direct link between Lewisham and Charlton.
