Have a question about Southeastern stations? Find the answer here…

Got a question? We can help...

How do I pay for my parking ticket if there are no pay and display machines?

There are still 7 ways you can pay for your station car park ticket. These are:
  • Ticket Vending Machine at the station
  • At the ticket office
  • Pay by phone by calling 03301 235 247
  • Online
  • Scratch cards
  • Pay by mobile
  • Mobile app
For more information on how to pay by the final four options please visit southeasternparking.co.uk.

Why have you removed some pay and display machines from your station car parks?

In the past 18 months there has been a significant move from people paying by cash for their car park ticket to people preferring to use cashless payment methods. We and Indigo are responding to this change by moving some of our car parks to a cashless system. Posters are up at stations where machines will be removed - as are details of how to pay - if you have any problems using one of the cashless methods available, please contact Indigo customer services team on 03301 235 247.

What time do station ticket offices open?

It varies. Tell us your local station and we’ll give you the ticket office opening hours and other useful information. Check a station.

How long could I have to queue to buy a ticket at the station?

Ideally you’ll be served within three minutes, or five minutes at peak times.

Waits may be a bit longer at busy times, such as the beginning of the week. There’s a poster in every staffed station showing the times to avoid if you can, so you don’t have to queue for long.

The fastest way may be to use the Ticket Vending Machines or buy your train tickets online.

You can renew Season Tickets online too.

Can I park my car at the station?

Many of our stations have car parks. For information and to buy online season permits or daily/weekly e-tickets go to the Southeastern parking website. You'll also be able to see the charges for each car park.

Our car parks are managed by Indigo except Ebbsfleet International station. You can visit ebbsfleetintl.co.uk/parking for information and online booking there.

Can I leave my bike at my local station?

Most of our stations have bike racks and/or lockers.

To see what facilities are available for cyclists check our station information.

You can take bikes on our off-peak trains. Folding bikes can be carried on our peak time trains if there is enough room in the luggage areas for them to be safely stowed away.

Do you provide information about train times at the station?

We display timetables on posters at every station and pocket versions are available from the ticket office. We also put up posters warning you in advance when engineering work is coming up and will affect journeys to and from the station.

Most of our stations also have customer information screens on the platforms or concourses that give ‘live’ train time updates. Some smaller stations have a help-line telephone.

We also expect our station staff to make announcements when they're needed.

Can you help disabled people at your stations?

All of our trains are accessible for people with disabilities. We also offer an Assisted Travel service if you need help at our stations.

Are all your stations accessible for people with prams or heavy luggage?

Unfortunately not all of our stations have step-free access to platforms.

We are working with Network Rail to improve station facilities across our network - including providing step-free access.

You can check what facilities are available in our station information section.

Do you have public toilets at all your stations?

Many of our stations have toilets that are open to the public while they are staffed. They are normally locked after staff leave for the day to prevent vandalism.

Unfortunately some smaller stations do not have public toilets.

You can check what facilities are available in our station information section.

How often do you clean your stations?

Our larger stations are cleaned daily and our smaller ones every few days. We aim to remove graffiti within 48 hours of it being reported.

We do try to make sure that our stations provide a pleasant travelling environment for our passengers.

If you notice something that you think needs attention please let one of our station staff know.

What are you doing to control pigeons at your stations?

We try to deter the birds from roosting by installing pigeon netting or spikes on supporting beams.

We know pigeon fouling is a major cause of complaint. We have health and safety responsibilities to passengers and staff and a duty to keep stations clean. We try to minimise fouling as best we can.

Can I take photographs at stations?

You're welcome to take photos of our trains and at the stations that we manage. We'd be grateful if you could ask permission first if any of our employees are going to be in your pictures.

Please only go into areas that are open to the general public and don't cause an obstruction to passengers or staff. Ideally, if you are taking more than just a few 'snapshots', please ask permission first if it is possible.

Flash photography must not be used at our stations because this can distract our train drivers.

Our staff might occasionally ask photographers not to take pictures and move to another part of the station or leave it altogether. We will always explain why this is necessary, but please bear in mind that our staff have many things to consider – primarily the safety and security of our passengers.

If you are taking photos for publication

Please ask for permission if any photographs taken of our trains and property for are for publication.

Enthusiasts can take photographs at stations for private purposes, provided they are only for enthusiast magazines.

We support the Guidelines for Rail Enthusiasts which help remind enthusiasts of their responsibilities when visiting stations.

Yes, please contact Customer Services to book a time to collect, so that the station employees can be forwarned.

While we would like to support as many charities as we can, please note that we can only allow three collections for your charity each year.

Do I need permission to hand out promotional items at your stations?

Yes – we need to be sure the whatever you hand out is appropriate. Please send us an example of the item you would like to distribute and we will then let you know, in writing, if we can agree to your request.

If approved, we'll also tell you where or who you will need to report to when you arrive at the station.

What is your smoking policy?

‘No smoking’ posters and signs are in place warning passengers about this.

Electronic cigarette devices cannot be used on our trains or at our stations.

My question isn't here…
