Back to school
Get your kids travel savvy
Back to school
We know that your kids can't wait to get back to school and see their friends after the holidays.
Although lockdown has eased it's still important that they follow government advice and remember the Hands. Face. Space. message.
Things will look a little different, so we've created a simple checklist to remind schoolchildren how they can get travel savvy before they hop on a train and head back to the classroom.
- Timetables
Check train times in advance, the timetable may have changed since you last travelled. - Tickets
You can buy a child season ticket up to 7 days in advance. You can buy and load our contactless Key smartcard tickets from home using the Southeastern app. - Face coverings
Unless exempt or under 11 years old, face coverings must be worn on trains and in stations. If your child forgets theirs, station staff will provide a disposable face mask for that journey. - Social distancing
Please stay 1 metre or more apart. - Extra staff
There will be extra staff at the busiest stations when the schools go back. - Be considerate
Remember that other passengers may be anxious about travelling, so please behave in a calm and respectful manner. - One-way systems
Some stations will look different – with one-way systems and extra queuing arrangements. - Clean hands
Everyone should remember to wash their hands and carry hand sanitiser. Our trains and stations have soap and water, with hand sanitiser dispensers at some stations too.
Our Safer Travel Pledge means everyone can travel with confidence. We’re boosting cleaning on our trains, supplying hand sanitiser points at busy stations, and providing extra help and information for passengers.
