Make your way to the Championships

Our trains and stations – particularly Ebbsfleet International, Stratford International and St Pancras International – are likely to be much busier during July and August with people travelling to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford International for the World Para Athletics and IAAF World Championships.

We are running more trains during this time to get you home after the event but please allow extra time to travel as peak services in the morning and evening are already busy. You may also like to travel ahead of the event and spend more time exploring the Olympic Park.

To avoid the queues and get the best value tickets buy in advance from any ticket office or online.

Our top tips for the perfect trip this summer:

  • Stay safe on busy platforms – during busy periods some of our high speed stations may, for your safety, have queuing systems in place
  • Keep hold of your stuff – please keep personal belongings with you at all times, keep valuables in inner pockets and ensure any bags have all zips and fasteners closed
  • Stay hydrated – please remember to carry water with you, especially on warmer days!
  • Ask for help – please book assisted travel in advance by calling 0800 7834524 or filling in the form on our Assisted Travel page. We’ll have members of staff dedicated to help with assisted travel at St Pancras International and Stratford International throughout these events, but a little notice helps us manage during busy periods
  • Buy your tickets in advance – the best priced tickets are those purchased in advance so don’t wait for the queues get them before you travel
