The vibrant city of Leeds in West Yorkshire is the perfect getaway. Arrive into the centre of this Northern city by train, a stone’s throw from the many things to see and do in the compact city. Lincoln Cathedral

Steeped in history and culture, Lincoln is home to one of only four originals of the Magna Carta. Berwick-upon-Tweed

Getting there: 3 hours 47 minutes from London King's Cross

Berwick-upon-Tweed is England’s most northerly town and if you’re in need of a relaxing weekend away, this is the perfect destination. Take in the fresh air, sea and countryside, friendly folk, and rich history. Visit sandy Spittal Beach and keep an eye out for wildlife as you may encounter seals bobbing up and down as you wander along the coast. Harrogate

Getting there: 2 hours 50 minutes from London King's Cross

In the heart of Yorkshire sits the picturesque town of Harrogate, perfect for a relaxing staycation. Harrogate is a popular destination full of quaint little streets and beautiful public gardens. Valley Gardens located in the centre of town is an award-winning 17-acre English Heritage Grade II listed park. Things to do in St Pancras International

Southeastern high speed trains from Kent take you into the heart of London and the iconic St Pancras International station. It’s an architectural gem and there’s a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafes to explore before the short walk to King’s Cross for connecting trains.

Raise a glass at St Pancras Brasserie by Searcys, tuck into traditional pub grub at The Betjeman Arms or grab food to go from one of the many cafes. If you need to pick up some last minute holiday essentials or a gift, St Pancras has everything from high street staples Accessorize and Boots to luxury stores Fortnum & Mason and Chanel. Plus, there’s free WiFi available within the station.
