Summary of the services we're running over Christmas and New Year
Check train times and plan your journey
We're working hard to help you travel safely. Visit our travel advice page for essential information if you need to travel by train.
Seat Reservations
At Southeastern we operate a "turn-up-and-go" railway which means you can travel on any train for which your ticket is valid. To help find the quieter times to travel, please use our SeatFinder tools which will show you which trains are usually less busy.
How do I avoid the busiest times?
From experience we know that fewer people are travelling for work over the festive season, but we would recommend you avoid travelling in the morning and evening rush-hour periods if you can – it's also cheaper to avoid the morning peak as well. Our SeatFinder tools will help you find those trains which are usually less busy and you should check your journey before you travel so you can be kept up-to-date with any disruption or changes.
Ticket restrictions
Between Tuesday 29 and Thursday 31 December, normal weekday ticket restrictions will apply.
Changes to train times
For details of engineering work taking place over the festive period, please visit our planned engineering work page. In the run up to Christmas, we've added some extra services from Monday 7 December, visit our timetables page for more information.
